SPORTS DAY CELEBRATIONS AT THE SOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOL

The South Public School recently celebrated its Sports Day, showcasing the students’ exceptional sporting talents and teamwork. The event was anchored by Veedant  Fate and Nishidha Sadhankar of Class X, two students who portrayed  characters selected by the Sports Authority of India to tour various parts of the country, promoting India’s rich sporting heritage.

The event began with a spectacular display by the students of all four houses – Netaji, Lokmanya, Acharya, and Maharshi – showcasing their school’s sporting traditions and celebrating excellence in sports. The students’ energy and enthusiasm were palpable as they demonstrated their skills in various sports and martial arts.

The event also featured performances highlighting India’s diverse sporting traditions, including Punjab’s martial arts, Northeast’s adventure sports,  Maharashtra’s  vibrant sporting traditions of kusthi, kho kho and kabaddi, and Kerala’s Kalari Payattu and Kathakali. The students of Class III presented ‘The Chronicles of Sport’, a journey through India’s rich sporting heritage, while Class IV presented ‘Rhythm Raiders’, a vibrant performance emphasizing the importance of physical fitness.

The grand finale, ‘Spectrum Sprint’, was a tribute to India’s armed forces, showcasing the students’ appreciation for the country’s strength and resilience.

The Chief Guest, DCP Rashmitha Rao, appreciated the fine show put up by the students and complimented the school for its emphasis on holistic development in her inspiring speech.The Guest of Honour, Mr Nilesh Changale, renowned surgeon appreciated the sterling efforts of the teachers and students .The Director, Shri Deaven Dasture, commended the faculty and students for focusing on comprehensive development, while the Principal, Dr. Mrunalini Dasture, presented the School Report, highlighting the school’s achievements in academic and co-curricular fields.

The  programme was ably compered by Ms Shalaka Joshi.

The event was a resounding success, with the  Vice Principal Mr Mangesh Chinewar, Coordinators Ms Manisha Salunkhe, Ms Meenal Tandaiya, Ms Anjali Deshpande , Ms Shalaka Joshi, teachers and guests alike praising the school’s efforts in promoting sports and physical fitness.

Celebrating Excellence at The South Public School: GEN Z FEST(MATHS & ARTS EXHIBITION) 2025

The South Public School recently celebrated   GEN Z FEST 2025, a vibrant  event that marked World Students’ Day, observed on October 15th, in honour of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.

The festival was a grand success, thanks to the efforts of the  students, and the collaborative efforts of clubs Mind the Mouse , Mind the Mind and  Kalaviṣhkar  together with Cherry Blossom parents. The event featured an array of activities, including food stalls, live musical performances by Grade 10 students, and an impressive display of 120 models and 98 charts.

A record number of 260 students participated in the event, showcasing their talents and creativity. The judges for the event were prominent personalities, including Mrs. Shraddha Kelapure, former Headmistress of The South Public School, Mrs. Jayshree Deshmukh, former Supervisor and HOD- Science Department, and Mr. Vilas Ballamwar, retired Principal of Municipal Corporation Valmiki Nagar Secondary School.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Shirish Ghan, appreciated the efforts of the students and the organizers, praising the event as a true celebration of talent and creativity. The Principal, Dr. Mrinalini Dasture, and the Director Shri  Deaven Dasture, also lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and interest in the programme. The event was a resounding success, with  the Vice Principal Mr Mangesh Chinewar, Coordinators, students, teachers, and parents alike appreciating the efforts put into making GEN Z FEST 2025 a memorable one.

Grandparents’ Day  Celebration at The South Public School, Omkar Nagar

The South Public School, Omkar Nagar, successfully organized a grand Grandparents’ Day Celebration to celebrate the invaluable role of grandparents in shaping the values and character of young children.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Union Minister Shri Nitinji Gadkari emphasized that the responsibility of creating responsible citizens of tomorrow cannot rest solely on schools. He stated, “Children must receive strong values from their grandparents at home and essential knowledge from schools. Only then will future generations truly be capable of elevating India’s prestige globally.”

Guest of Honour, BJP Nagpur City President and renowned speaker Shri Dayashankarji Tiwari, highlighted the increasing importance of grandparents in modern families. He noted that with both parents working, the responsibility of value education now largely rests with grandparents, who provide a space of comfort and emotional security for children.

The event was graced by School Director Shri Deaven Dasture, Principal Dr. Mrunalini Dasture, Shri Digvijay Dasture, Vice Principal Shri Mangesh Chinewar, and  Headmistress CB Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, Ms. Manisha Salunke, Ms. Anjali Deshpande, Ms. Deepali Wanjari, Ms Meenal Tandaiya.

Entertainment programs and competitions were organized for the grandparents. Grandparents enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents. A special highlight was a Bharatanatyam performance by Mrs. Aarti Pandey, a renowned classical dancer and grandmother of a student, which received widespread appreciation.

On the occasion of Mr. and Mrs. Ajayji Pahade’s wedding anniversary, a symbolic wedding ceremony was also held, adding joy and excitement to the event.

Prizes were awarded to winners of various competitions at the hands of Principal Dr. Mrunalini Dasture. Students and parents also presented dance performances dedicated to the grandparents.

The program commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Mrunalini Dasture & Shri Deaven Dasture, and the comparing along with the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Smita Khangai and Mrs. Shalaka Joshi.

The South Public School Hosts Grand Annual Event ‘Desh Ki Dhun’

Cherry Blossom School Shines with Grand Bharatotsav Celebration

Cherry Blossom School celebrated its annual cultural fest, Bharatotsav, on December 2,
2024, at the prestigious Suresh Bhat Auditorium. The event showcased India’s rich festivals
and traditions through mesmerizing performances by students from Nursery to Grade 2,
leaving the audience captivated.
Chief Guest Mr. Narendra Jog, Director of Jog Hospitality and founder of Sparsh, praised
the school, stating, “If reincarnation exists, I would love to return as a student of this school
