Grandparents’ Day  Celebration at The South Public School, Omkar Nagar

The South Public School, Omkar Nagar, successfully organized a grand Grandparents’ Day Celebration to celebrate the invaluable role of grandparents in shaping the values and character of young children.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Union Minister Shri Nitinji Gadkari emphasized that the responsibility of creating responsible citizens of tomorrow cannot rest solely on schools. He stated, “Children must receive strong values from their grandparents at home and essential knowledge from schools. Only then will future generations truly be capable of elevating India’s prestige globally.”

Guest of Honour, BJP Nagpur City President and renowned speaker Shri Dayashankarji Tiwari, highlighted the increasing importance of grandparents in modern families. He noted that with both parents working, the responsibility of value education now largely rests with grandparents, who provide a space of comfort and emotional security for children.

The event was graced by School Director Shri Deaven Dasture, Principal Dr. Mrunalini Dasture, Shri Digvijay Dasture, Vice Principal Shri Mangesh Chinewar, and  Headmistress CB Mrs. Sangeeta Singh, Ms. Manisha Salunke, Ms. Anjali Deshpande, Ms. Deepali Wanjari, Ms Meenal Tandaiya.

Entertainment programs and competitions were organized for the grandparents. Grandparents enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents. A special highlight was a Bharatanatyam performance by Mrs. Aarti Pandey, a renowned classical dancer and grandmother of a student, which received widespread appreciation.

On the occasion of Mr. and Mrs. Ajayji Pahade’s wedding anniversary, a symbolic wedding ceremony was also held, adding joy and excitement to the event.

Prizes were awarded to winners of various competitions at the hands of Principal Dr. Mrunalini Dasture. Students and parents also presented dance performances dedicated to the grandparents.

The program commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Mrunalini Dasture & Shri Deaven Dasture, and the comparing along with the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Smita Khangai and Mrs. Shalaka Joshi.
